Workshop with San Carlos School!

This was my first workshop with San Carlos school 5th graders teaching them about the psychology behind social media. I taught them about the dangers behind the addictive algorithm, as well as how to use that algorithm to our advantage. Limiting social media use is of course something we all want to do, but because social media is so prevalent in all our lives, it’s impossible to stop using it completely. Instead, knowing how to use it well is what we should teach younger generations.

I taught them about choice architecture and how they think they are choosing what they are watching but actually it’s the social media that chooses for them. I loved this opportunity to share what I’ve learned and make an impact with my community, everyone was super engaged and we all had a really good time!
